Best and most authentic Mexican food here by far. Everything is made in house, the menu has great variety, the portions are HUGE, and the atmosphere is quiet and intimate. It's an unassuming place from outside but don't let that fool you, La Hacienda is incredible!
We finally got her based on recommendations. I had the enchiladas, my wife had the tilapia. Plus we were given chips and home made salsa. Everything was amazing. We'll be back
So many great options on the menu. Food is so fresh and tasty. Every cocktail we tried was better than the last, highly recommend the coconut margarita. It wasn't busy when we were there but can't understand why, the food was amazing. Can't wait to try the brunch.
Amazing service, beautiful patio and fresh tasting authentic Mexican cuisine! So fortunate to have a great restaurant in our Downtown Core that offers a variety of Mexican dishes from salsa or guacamole and chips, tacos, soups or salads, alcoholic beverages and desserts! I have always had an enjoyable time at this location. Sandra and her staff are attentive and a pleasure to speak with. Enjoy! Update: I enjoyed Taco Tuesday with a side of margaritas and it did not disappoint! Truly delicious! Update: Went to the Dragon Boat Festival and La Hacienda was there so I purchased birria tacos, guac and chips plus chips for home! Proceeds went to the fundraiser! Update: Every one I know is in Mexico right now and its a cold day so I went to sit in the sunshine while enjoying my birria tacos.
The food is consistently good. I have been here a couple times when we visit the area. A bit on the salty side and lacking in veg options. Most things are gluten-free which is important for myself due to celiac disease. We find it on the pricey side in comparison to other Mexican or Latin eateries. Service is always fantastic, and they have a nice patio.
Looooooveee this spot. Whenever I’m in Peterborough and feeling for Mexican food I love going here for lunch. The Sopa Azteca and burrito is soo good! Everything’s authentic and fresh.
On a cold January afternoon, we visited Peterborough downtown, and closed off our trip with dinner at La Hacienda. Started with drinks (cerveza and traditional margarita, on the rocks), and enjoyed fresh ultra-crisp nacho chips with nice salsa. After multiple offers from our server, I accepted some sauce with a bit more spice! Was nice! Our dinner was the corn tortilla enchiladas (cuatro, on each dish!). Pleasant music, and great decor.
It’s a great place. As a Mexican I really enjoy their food they have very good sazon! Would definitely recommend! I ordered the “camarones a la diabla” which were great, careful if you don’t handle spicy well and the “enchiladas rojas”, very spicy friendly and flavour full. Both come with an amazing side of red rice! And some salad. Hope you enjoy!
